Bobby Mardis is the proprietor and owner of B. Story Pictures that is in the business of creating content for mass consumption and to help!

Bobby Mardis, who was originally a native of Hammond Indiana, studied in Los Angeles and is
now an Atlanta resident. He is both a member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA), as well
as the Writers Guild of America (WGA). Bobby is a product of UCLA and USC, where he studied
communication and advertising. After college, he trained in acting at the American Academy of
Dramatic Arts among dozens of workshops in Los Angeles. During the 40+ years that Bobby has
been in the entertainment industry, he has worked on over three hundred projects, in various
capacities, which has resulted in making him an extremely, knowledgeable and well-rounded
filmmaker.

Bobby Mardis Productions in association with Fat Chance Films and B. Story Pictures has
produced and delivered film, television and various industrial projects. Showtime Network
exhibited Bobby’s “Why Colors?” which starred notables like Regina King, Ice–T, Barry White,
Anne Marie Johnson and a number of his “Robert Townsend’s Partner’s in Crime” co-cast
members. He produced and directed “Circle of Pain” for Showtime, which starred the Emmy
Award winning actor, Glynn Turman. This award-winning film also featured Anna Marie
Horsford, T’Keyah Crystal Keymah, Todd Bridges, and was the last film performance of the late
Rosalind Cash. He went on to produce and direct the straight to video feature, “One Last Time”
staring “In Living Color” and “The Cosby Show”, T’Keyah Crystal Keymah. Together, the both won the NAACP Theater Award for the production of “Some of My Best Friends.”

Bobby has received numerous awards for his films in various film festivals around the world. His
made-for-television comedy entitled, “Midnight Blue,” achieved the highest ratings in the series
of B.E.T.’s Arabesque slate of projects. He has expanded his artistic reach to write and direct the
thriller, “One Last Time” for the straight-to-video market.

Bobby Mardis, along with Stan Foster, produced a comedy pilot for Comedy Central called, “In
the Cut.” He directed the hilarious Latin sitcom pilot entitled, “X & L Customs” which raised
eyebrows in the pilot arena. He has directed multi-camera comedy concerts that include, “Against
All Odds” starring TK Kirkland for Image Entertainment shot in Atlanta; a gospel comedy called “Shout” featuring Mark Christopher Lawrence and the uproarious “I Got Problems” for Avatar
Productions. One of Bobby’s socially conscious projects he directed is the multi-camera concert
film “The Silence is Broken” which was made as a benefit, featuring a sixty-piece orchestra and a
myriad of musical stars including Loretta Divine, TC Carson and Patrice Rushen, who donated
their time, energy and talent for AIDS prevention. This project is currently being streamed on
thesilenceisbroken.org. Along the same socially conscious vein, he completed the music video,
award winning “Peace on the Streets” to help bring light to the violence on the streets epidemic
of San Francisco and around the country.

Bobby produced the underground music documentary, “Beats by the Bay,” which features MC
Hammer, Too Short and E-40 and eighty other rap artists. This project is about the independent
hip-hop and rap scene in the San Francisco Bay Area. His film, “Keeping the Faith,” spotlighted
the faith-based organizations that helped the gulf coast citizens during one of the most disastrous
hurricanes in American history, Hurricane Katrina. The film also features close to one hundred
celebrities who gave heartfelt words of inspiration to the people who lost lives, property and
dreams. West Angele’s Bishop Charles Blake also gives us an appearance and emotional appeal.
One of Bobby’s pet projects is entitled, “Passing the Torch.” It’s a riveting jazz project illustrating
the tradition of passing down the art form of jazz from one generation to the next. He has captured
over 200 legendary jazz musicians from all over the world in various venues summarizing their
stories. The list of incredible talent include, Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Lionel Hampton,
Nancy Wilson, Stanley Turentine, Illinois Jacquet, Arturo Sandoval, Winton Marsalis, and Grover
Washington, Jr., just to name a few. This project is a thirty-year, labor of love that will give jazz
enthusiasts a closer insight of the inner-workings of the jazz mind, as it enlightens a new generation
of music lovers.

Bobby uses his creativity and ingenuity to raise funds for his pet projects by shooting electronic
press kits (EPKs), commercials, music videos and industrial projects. He has conducted over 1000
interviews on various subject matters across the board. As an editor, he has cut a variety of projects
from industrial films to infomercials. His “Sun West Mortgage” reverse mortgage infomercial can
be found in ten thousand banks across the U.S.

Bobby directed the DGA tribute to Richard Pryor with Sidney Poitier, Whoopie Goldberg, Eddie
Griffith, Robin Williams and Dave Chappelle. The previous year, he directed and edited the tribute
to Maya Angelou and then went on to complete the F. Gary Gray tribute, which also had a host of
celebrity supporters. He edited the pilot for TVOne entitled, “In the Company of Friends” with
Vanessa Bell-Calloway, Sinbad, Chanté Moore and others. After meeting Robert Townsend on the
stand-up comedy circuit, he was hired to act in “Hollywood Shuffle” “Five Heartbeats,” and most
of Robert’s subsequent projects. In the commercial arena, he produced a set of Hallmark
commercials spotlighting the poetry of our national treasure and beloved icon, the late Maya
Angelou. His body of work also includes collaborations with companies such as, Nike, Infiniti,
AXA Financial, The Limited, Household International and a number of other Fortune 500 entities.
Three of his award-winning films can be found in the slate that he produced for AXE Fragrance.
Under his belt is a reality show pilot featuring musical artists, Wayne Vaughn, of the world famous
band, Earth, Wind & Fire and his wife Wanda Hutchinson-Vaughn from The Emotions.

Bobby completed a script for the World Basketball Association and Nike, which was produced
and presented at Radio City Music Hall and hosted by Anthony Anderson and E.T.’s Kevin
Frasier. In the public service announcement (PSA) arena, Bobby has produced a number of
products including the “Be Well” health campaign directed towards Black women for the State
of California.

Bobby has written books catered to 6th and 7th graders. One called, “Journey to Green
City” which features the subject matters of sustainable energy and green technology.
His book on a similar subject matter is called, “My Trip to Green City,” which
demographic includes students in grades 3th, 4th, and 5th. Mardis has a number of
other placements with the “Never Give up,” and “Words to Live by…,” which are both
inspirational in nature and enlightening reading for adolescents. He has a series of
books called the “Adventures with Mr. Steve…” where there are presently six books in
that catalogue out of a set of ten. He is writing the book, “The Truth,” which
spotlights greatness and history from an African perspective. He has just joined the
founding board of the “Black Entertainment Economic Council” structured to
increase the filmic participation of Black technicians in Georgia. Bobby’s current
project is a slate of narrative films centered around an anti-sex trafficking theme.
The proceeds benefit non-profit organizations that cater to the children, young girls
and women who are left psychologically traumatized and in need of food, clothing
and shelter.

Bobby is a diversified Producer / Director / Author who is on the move and who will
make greater strides in the motion picture industry for years to come in Atlanta and
around the world.

In Development

Bobby Mardis is in the process of selecting his team to spearhead each of the five films. We are currently in development of the projects solidifying the scripts and the process of securing the financing.
